EMSP 1501 - EMT Basic
5 credit hours.
Lecture/Lab/Clinical: Three hours lecture and six hours of lab each week.
Prerequisite(s): Suggested: Current American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider Certification
Co-requisite(s): EMSP 1164
Introduction to the level of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Includes all the knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an EMS public or private service, fire department, or other specialized service areas. Licensing/Certification Agencies: National Registry of EMT’s and the Texas department of State Health Services. (Fall, Spring, Summer)
