Physical Therapist Assistant, A.A.S.

Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor early in their program of study. The Northeast Texas Community College PTA program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. NTCC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree; and, upon graduation, students will be eligible to apply and sit for the PTA Licensing exam administered by the state of Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Graduates must pass the state board to practice as a PTA in the state of Texas. Even though NTCC has an open-door policy, the Physical Therapist assistant program must limit its enrollment due to the limited classroom space and the availability of clinical affiliations. Applicants must meet minimum academic standards to be considered for admission. Application information and forms are located on the NTCC PTA Program website www.ntcc.edu/pta.  The deadline for application to the PTA program is March 31st each year. Only college-level courses apply toward completion of this curriculum and the graduation requirements for the A.A.S.
