Funeral Service, A.A.S.

Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor prior to starting the Funeral Service program of study.  Even though Northeast has an open-door policy, the Funeral Service Education program must limit its enrollment due to the availability of clinical affiliations.

Applicants must meet minimum academic standards to be considered for admission. Application information and forms are located on the Northeast FSE Program website at www.ntcc.edu/funeralservice.

The Northeast Texas Community College FSE program is in the process of applying for accreditation with the American Board of Funeral Service Education and currently has Candidacy status.

CAUTION: Students applying for admission to the Funeral Service program should contact their respective state boards of funeral service regarding the state board’s approval of this particular program of instruction.

Core Curriculum Requirements (15 credit hours)


English: 3 Hours


Mathematics, Science, or Computer Technology: 6 Hours


Social and Behavioral Sciences: 3 Hours


Funeral Service Education Concentration (36 Credit Hours)


Other Degree Requirements (9 Credit Hours)


Minimum Required - 60 Credit Hours
