RNSG 1309 - Introduction to Nursing 3 credit hours. Lecture/Lab/Clinical: Two hours of lecture and two hours of lab each week Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program Co-requisites: RNSG 1105 , RNSG 1341
Overview of nursing and the role of the professional nurse as provider in patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of health care team, and member of the profession. Content includes knowledge, judgment, skills and professional values regarding communication, nutrition, growth and development, problem-solving process, critical thinking and basic human needs within a legal/ethical framework. This course lends itself to a blocked approach.
