3 credit hours. Lecture/Lab/Clinical: Three hours of lecture each week. Provides an overview of the generalist social work approach to practice. Students develop relationship-building, problem-identification and data-gathering skills to be used with all levels of client systems. Interviewing and written documentation skills are developed through videotaped interviews, role plays and written assignments. Special attention is given to ethical practice and issues of diversity.
