HALT 1371 - Organic Gardening and Food Production 3 credit hours. Lecture/Lab/Clinical: Two hours of lecture and three hours of lab each week This course includes a study of fall organic crop production practices, including vegetables and culinary and medicinal herbs. Topics include philosophical background and history of the organic farming movement, variety selection for northeast Texas, production methods appropriate to the region, and record keeping procedures for organic certification.
