• RNSG 1324 - Concept Based Transition to Professional Nursing Practice 3 credit hours. (Spring)
• RNSG 1162 - Transition Clinical LVN 1 credit hour. (Spring)
• RNSG 1538 - Health Care Concepts III 5 credit hours. (Fall)
• RNSG 1137 - Professional Nursing Concepts III 1 credit hour. (Fall)
• RNSG 2363 - Clinical III 3 credit hours. (Fall)
• RNSG 2539 - Health Care Concepts IV 5 credit hours. (Spring)
• RNSG 2138 - Professional Nursing Concepts IV 1 credit hour. (Spring)
• RNSG 2361 - Clinical IV 3 credit hours. (Spring)

Other Degree Requirements (9 Credit Hours)

Two courses:

• BIOL 2420 - Microbiology 4 credit hours. (♦)
• BIOL 2402 - Anatomy & Physiology II 4 credit hours. (♦)
• Plus 1 hour from “Mathematics, Science or Computer Technology”

Successful Completion of the Transition Sequence (12 Credit Hours)

 Credit is granted for previous course work.

Note(s):

♦ Designates a prerequisite course that must be taken prior to application. The three lab hours from the required prerequisite science course apply towards the Math, Science or Computer Technology credits.

Courses within the Nursing Department are required in a specific sequence and are only offered once a year. Some course work is offered online or in a hybrid format. Please see the catalog or an advisor for a guideline on sequence and timing of course work.

Nursing has selective admissions. LVN applicants are required to take the HESI Transition Exam to be considered along with application requirements.  Paramedic applicants are required to complete Certified Nursing Assistant course and the HESI A2 Exam to be considered along with the application requirements.
