Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor early in their program of study. The Northeast Texas Community College MLT program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. NTCC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree; and, upon graduation, students will be eligible to take a national certification exam. Even though NTCC has an open-door policy, the Medical Laboratory Technology program must limit its enrollment due to the limited classroom space and the availability of clinical affiliations. Applicants must meet minimum academic standards to be considered for admission. Application information and forms are located on the NTCC MLT Program website www.ntcc.edu/index.php The deadline for application to the MLT program is July 1st each year.

2+2 Articulation Agreement with University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston

Northeast Texas Community College and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences have entered into an articulation agreement to provide students who have identified Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) as a career choice to receive early acceptance into the CLS program at UTMB. The student must complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology at NTCC and complete a pre-entry interview conducted by the faculty of the UTMB CLS program. The interview will be scheduled at either NTCC or UTMB during the first semester of the student’s sophomore year. Additional prerequisites required for the program may be found on the NTCC MLT Program website www.ntcc.edu/index.php. Only college-level courses apply toward completion of this curriculum and the graduation requirements for the A.A.S.
