Leading to a Bachelor of Social Work at Texas A&M University - Commerce

Northeast Texas Community College and Texas A & M University - Commerce have entered into an articulation agreement to provide a seamless transition for students who complete the Associate of Science Degree in Social Work at Northeast to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work at Texas A&M University - Commerce.

Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor early in their program of study. These are suggested courses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in social work. Transferability and specific requirements can be determined only by the receiving institution. Only college-level courses apply toward completion of this curriculum and the graduation requirements for the A.S

Core Curriculum Requirements (42 Credit Hours)

Communication

ENGL 1301 - English Composition I 3 credit hours. and
Choose one from the following:
SPCH 1315 - Public Speaking 3 credit hours.
SPCH 1321 - Business and Professional Communication 3 credit hours.

Mathematics

Choose one course from the following:

MATH 1314 - College Algebra 3 credit hours.
MATH 1342 - Introductory Statistics 3 credit hours. (preferred)

BIOL 1308 - Biology for Non-Science Majors I 3 credit hours.
