Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor early in their program of study. The Criminal Justice program offers instruction and training for individuals who are seeking careers in Criminal Justice or related fields and do not intend to transfer to a four-year institution, but are seeking peace orricer certification with an A.A.S. degree. Deviations from the courses listed require a recommendation from the faculty advisor and approval of the Associate Vice President for Workforce Development.

Core Curriculum Requirements (36 Credit Hours)
Mathematics, Science or Computer Technology: 6 Hours
Language, Philosophy and Culture: 3 Hours
Choose one course from the following:
American History: 6 Credit Hours
Government/Political Science: 6 Credit Hours
Social and Behavioral Science: 3 Credit Hours
Choose one course from the following:
Approved Electives: 6 Credit Hours
Criminal Justice Concentration (24 Credit Hours)
- Successfully complete peace officer certification through the East Texas Police Academy and pass the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement state exam. 24 credit hours
Minimum Required - 60 Credit Hours
