CHEM 2425 - Organic Chemistry II 4 credit hours. Lecture/Lab/Clinical: Three hours lecture and four hours of lab each week. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 2423 with a grade of C or better Continuation of CHEM 2423 . Advanced principles of organic chemistry will be studied. Advanced principles of organic chemistry will be studied. Topics include: the properties and reactions of alcohols, ethers, conjugated systems, aromatic compounds, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, and amines, with emphasis on synthesis and mechanisms. Spectroscopic methods of structure determination of organic molecules is also covered. (Spring)
