These are suggested courses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in history. Transferability and specific requirements can be determined only by the receiving institution. Only college-level courses apply toward completion of this curriculum and the graduation requirements for the A.A.

Core Curriculum Requirements (43-44 Credit Hours)
Composition: 6 Hours
two courses Mathematics: 3-4 Hours
one course MATH 1314 or above (prerequisites required) from the following Natural Sciences: 8 Hours
two courses from the following Humanities: 3 Hours
one course from the following Visual and Performing Arts: 3 Hours
one course from the following Social/Behavioral Science: 3 Hours
one course from the following History: 6 Hours
two courses Government: 6 Hours
two courses Speech: 3 Hours
one course from the following Physical Education: 2 Hours
two semester credit hours from the following courses Literature (3 Credit Hours)
one course from the following History Concentration (9 Credit Hours)
Courses in the major (9-10 Credit Hours)
Minimum Required - 64 Credit Hours
Note:
(♦) Students may not receive the full six hours of credit for HIST 1301 and HIST 1302 by testing.
Three hours of United States history must be taken in class to meet the state requirement for graduation. |
