Leading to a Bachelor of Social Work at Texas A&M University - Commerce

Northeast Texas Community College and Texas A & M University - Commerce have entered into an articulation agreement to provide a seamless transition for students who complete the Associate of Science Degree in Social Work at NTCC to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work at Texas A&M University - Commerce.

Students should consult a faculty advisor or an academic advisor early in their program of study. These are suggested courses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in social work. Transferability and specific requirements can be determined only by the receiving institution. Only college-level courses apply toward completion of this curriculum and the graduation requirements for the A.S

Program Requirements


Core Curriculum Requirements (43 Credit Hours)


Composition: 6 Hours


two courses

Mathematics: 3 Hours


one course from the following (prerequisites required)

Visual and Performing Arts: 3 Hours


one course from the following

Social/Behavioral Science: 3 Hours


one course from the following

Government: 6 Hours


two courses

Speech: 3 Hours


one course from the following

Approved Electives (10-12 Credit Hours)


 Student’s choice of college-level courses except PHED activity courses.

Minimum Required - 62 Credit Hours
